Elements
An element is a collection of definitions and rules associated with a collection of products.
For example:
- The category element is a set of strategies, assets and rules for defining how products on a category page should display.
- The search element is a set of strategies, assets and rules for defining how products on a search page should display.
- The autocomplete element is a set of strategies, assets and rules for defining how products on an autocomplete popup should display.
You can create as many elements as you need in the Merchandising strategies section of Ometria's Web Personalisation feature.
Location specific elements
There are different types of elements that correspond to where on a website or app the associated products will appear:
- System: category, search and autocomplete are special "out of the box" elements that have predefined meanings.
- Product: These are elements that are intended to create a set of products to be displayed on a product detail page. These elements are primarily used for creating product recommendations.
- General: These are general purpose elements that are used for creating product collections, which can be used in many different situations, e.g. seasonal products on your homepage.
